Autofill Set Up
To enable KeeperFill, navigate to Keeper's Settings menu, then toggle "KeeperFill" on and tap Set Up > Open Autofill Settings.

You’ll be redirected to your device Settings to select Keeper as your "Preferred service for passwords, passkeys & autofill".

You will then prompted to enable various settings on your device including:
Selecting Keeper as the Autofill service
Enabling KeeperFill in Chrome by selecting "Autofill using another service" and Restart Chrome (if Chrome is set as the default browser on your device).
Navigate back to Keeper and tap Done. You are now ready to start using KeeperFill.
Android also supports “Additional Autofill Services” which create pop-ups via Google Credential Manager, a separate autofill option. Enabling Keeper as an additional service is not recommended as it will not trigger the fill options above your keyboard which provides the most reliable and seamless autofill experience.
Autofill in Apps & Web Browsers
From the app or website login screen, tap Sign in to Keeper located above the keyboard and authenticate to Keeper.

If Keeper identifies a record match, your login will be displayed. Simply tap on your login info next to the Keeper icon to autofill your credentials and log in.
Some apps and sites have more than one login screen and may require you to tap your login on each screen.

Record Search & Creation
If you would like to search for a record in your vault or create a new record, tap the Search/Add button above your keyboard.
Then tap Create New Record, enter the record details, then Fill & Save to save the record to your vault and autofill the newly created login into the app or site.

Or if you'd like to search for an existing record, select the record from your records list and tap Fill to autofill the login into the app or site.

Logging in With Passkeys
Keeper supports the use of FIDO2 passkeys for any supported websites and applications. By leveraging KeeperFill, users can conveniently authenticate without passwords, enhancing security and usability.
To ensure that your device uses Keeper for passkey login, from your device Settings menu, navigate to "Passwords, passkeys and data services" and select Keeper as your preferred service.

Passkeys work on websites and applications that have been specifically built to support them.
Upon tapping Create Passkey on a site or app, Keeper will intercept the request to create and save a passkey to your vault.
Returning to sites or apps where you have a stored passkey you will either be prompted to sign in with passkey or will be able to select Sign in with Passkey. Keeper does the rest!
Passkeys are available on Android devices running Android 14+ and work on websites and applications that have been specifically built to support them. Keeper maintains a passkey directory, which can be found HERE.
Troubleshooting
Common autofill issues and solutions for Android are covered below.
"My passwords aren't appearing at all."
Solution 1: Confirm Keeper is selected as your "Preferred service for passwords, passkeys, & autofill" by revisiting our setup steps here.
Solution 2: Disable and re-enable KeeperFill in Keeper's Settings menu.
Some apps or websites (like certain banking apps, streaming services, or complex login flows) use unique coding that can make autofill challenging. We're constantly working to improve Keeper's detection across all platforms, but sometimes specific sites may require a manual fill.
"Keeper doesn't immediately appear when I open an app or website."
Solution 1: Tap on the username or password field to prompt your keyboard to display Keeper's autofill suggestions.
Solution 2: Close and then re-open the app or website to refresh the page and try again.
Solution 3: Ensure your keyboard app is updated to its latest version via the Google Play Store. Temporarily switch to a different keyboard app (if you have one installed) to see if the issue persists. This can help determine if the problem is with your current keyboard.
Solution 4: When using the latest Chrome browser, you can also long press on the field you are attempting to fill and select "Autofill". This should trigger autofill suggestions above of your keyboard.

"Keeper is autofilling the wrong field."
This can happen when apps or websites don't follow Google's coding standards, which can confuse the autofill service.
Solution 1: f you run into a scenario like this, contact our support team with the specific app/website details so our team can investigate and make improvements or suggestions.
Solution 2: Open the Keeper app and manually copy-paste your login credentials directly into the website or app.
"My Passkeys are not appearing for Keeper."
Solution: Go to your device Settings > "Passwords, passkeys and accounts" (or similar) and confirm Keeper is selected as your passkey provider. You may need to reselect Keeper after Android OS updates.
Remember, passkeys work on Android 14+ and only on websites/apps specifically built to support them.
"My Samsung device isn't automatically clearing items copied to my clipboard."
Solution: Keeper can clear your clipboard automatically, but Samsung devices override this due to system behavior. To manually clear your clipboard, tap the clipboard icon at the top of your keyboard (Gboard, Samsung Keyboard, etc.) and select the option to delete all items.

Keep Your Chrome Browser Updated
To ensure the best autofill performance, always keep your Chrome or Chromium based browser updated to the latest version. Most recent autofill inconsistencies on Android were resolved in Chrome version 141 and higher.
Updating your browser is the most effective way to receive official fixes and performance improvements directly from Google.
How to Update Chrome
Open the Google Play Store app.
Tap your profile icon at the top right.
Tap Manage apps & device.
Find Google Chrome under "Updates available" and tap Update.
Other Reasons You Might Experience Autofill Inconsistencies
Android's diverse ecosystem (different manufacturers, OS versions, keyboards, and updates) can cause inconsistent autofill behavior across devices and apps.
System Updates: Major Android updates can temporarily affect autofill performance until password managers adapt.
App/Website Design: If login fields aren't coded to Android standards, any autofill service may struggle to recognize them.
Browser Behavior: Some browsers prioritize their built-in password managers or lag behind updates, causing inconsistencies. We recommend Chrome or Chromium-based browsers for best results.
