## Import Instructions

1. To import passwords from your web browsers, you must first install the Keeper Import Tool. To begin the installation, from the **Account Dropdown Menu**, click **Settings**.

4. Copy the code Keeper provides (you will need this later when prompted in the Keeper Importer).

<figure><img src="https://914511346-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2F-LSGVtOTYUIkVBoYtFvK%2Fuploads%2FZBfqKfTr0wUnduOJYhUM%2Fimage%20(2).avif?alt=media&#x26;token=5193241d-1eba-4d3e-891b-bcb450eca39a" alt=""><figcaption><p>Copy Import Code</p></figcaption></figure>

5. **For** **PC**: click **Run** when prompted.\
**For** **Mac**: double click the "KeeperImport.zip" file located in your downloads and double click on the "Keeper Import App" to start the import process. You will encounter a few Keychain permission windows that will require you to enter your computer password to allow Keeper to access your web browsers.
6. Keeper will then ask for the code you received from step one; paste the code and click **Import**. Keeper will then import your credentials across all of your web browsers at once.

6\. Once you have imported your credentials using one of the methods above, you can customize how you would like the information to appear in your vault in the field mapping screen. Here you'll see standard field names across the top that “map” to the data below for each Keeper record.

To adjust these mappings:

* Click any field to open a dropdown menu
* Select the appropriate field name from the list. Repeat this process across each column as needed
* Click **Next** to finalize your selections.

7. Next, a summary screen will display a preview of your vault, showing the folder structure of your imported records. Here you can adjust the folder structure and click into individual records to preview their details before finalizing the import.
8. Click **Confirm Import** to complete the import process.

Once the import is complete, we highly recommend that you delete any unencrypted password files from your computer and disable any old password managers.
