# ETH Zurich Password Manager Research ### Overview A recent security report titled Zero Knowledge (About) Encryption: A Comparative Security Analysis of Three Cloud-based Password Managers was published on February 16, 2026 and was published by researchers with ETH Zurich and the Università della Svizzera italiana (USI). This research has raised architectural considerations for cloud-based password managers operating under a malicious server threat model - where the server may behave dishonestly or be fully compromised. Keeper Security was not mentioned or referenced in this study. Keeper values and appreciates this research study and is analyzing it in reference to our zero-knowledge and zero-trust security model and architecture. These types of studies are instrumental in elevating the technology in our industry and have tremendous value.
