Uninstall Keeper

Instructions for how to uninstall Keeper.

Desktop App

Mac

Removing Keeper Password Manager will also remove KeeperFill from Safari. Data stored in Keeper's Cloud Security Vault is NOT erased.

  1. Drag the Keeper Password Manager app to the Trash.

  2. Empty the Trash.

Windows 10

Uninstall will delete the data from Keeper on the local device. Data stored in Keeper's Cloud Security Vault is NOT erased.

  1. Navigate to the Windows Start Menu > Settings > Apps & Features.

  2. Under Apps & features, click the Keeper Password Manager application.

  3. Click Uninstall.

  4. You will be warned that the app and its related info will be uninstalled, click Uninstall to confirm.

  5. User Account Control will ask you to confirm making changes to your device, confirm the changes by clicking Yes.

Windows 8

  1. On your desktop locate the Keeper App tile.

  2. With your mouse, right-click and choose Uninstall from the options toolbar at the bottom of your screen.

If you are using a touchscreen:

  1. Tap and hold the Keeper tile and drag it downward slightly, then release. A check mark will appear in the corner of the tile.

  2. Tap Uninstall to remove Keeper.

Windows 7

  1. Click Start and then click Control Panel.

  2. Under Programs, click Uninstall a program.

  3. Select the Keeper application.

  4. Click Uninstall.

  5. To finish, accept any prompts that might appear while the software is being removed.

Linux

For Debian/Ubuntu

Open up a command line and run the following command:

sudo apt-get remove keeperpasswordmanager

For Fedora/Red Hat/CentOS

Open up a command line and run the following command:

sudo yum remove keeperpasswordmanager

If your distribution uses the DNF Package Manager, run the following command:

sudo dnf remove keeperpasswordmanager

Alternatively, Linux systems also use a software manger/center system that can uninstall software for you:

Debian/Ubuntu

  1. Click on the Ubuntu Software icon in the activities toolbar, this will open the Ubuntu Software Manager/Center.

  2. Here you can search for and uninstall Keeper from your computer.

  3. Click the Installed tab to list the applications.

  4. Click the Remove button next to the Keeper listing.

  5. Confirm you want to remove Keeper by clicking the Remove button and enter the password for Administrator or sudo user.

  6. Finish by clicking Authenticate.

Fedora/Red Hat/CentOS

Users can use GNOME Software like Ubuntu's Software Manager/Center to uninstall Keeper.

Older Microsoft Store App

Uninstall will delete the data from Keeper on the local device. Data stored in Keeper's Cloud Security Vault is NOT erased.

  1. Navigate to the Windows Start Menu > Settings > Apps & Features.

  2. Under Apps & features, click the Keeper application.

  3. Click Uninstall.

  4. You will be warned that the app and its related info will be uninstalled, click Uninstall to confirm.

  5. User Account Control will ask you to confirm making changes to your device, confirm the changes by clicking Yes.

iOS

Uninstalling Keeper will delete the data from Keeper on the local device. Data stored in Keeper's Cloud Security Vault is NOT erased.

  1. On your device, long press on the Keeper App icon.

  2. Tap Remove App > Delete App > Delete. (For older iOS systems, long press on the Keeper App icon until all the apps start to shake. Tap the "X" that appears in the upper left corner of the Keeper App icon. To confirm, tap Delete).

Android

The instructions below apply to the latest OS. Third party operating system instructions may differ.

Uninstalling Keeper will delete the data from Keeper on the local device. Data stored in Keeper's Cloud Security Vault is NOT erased.

  1. Open your device's Settings menu.

  2. Tap Apps or Application Manager (depending on device).

  3. Navigate to the Keeper App.

  4. Tap Uninstall.

  5. Confirm by tapping OK when prompted.

Chrome Browser Extension

Uninstalling Keeper's Browser Extension from Chrome does not effect the data stored in Keeper's Cloud Security Vault.

  1. Right click on the Keeper extension icon in the upper right corner of your browser.

  2. Click Remove from Chrome...

  3. When the pop-up menu appears, click Remove.

Firefox Browser Extension

Uninstalling Keeper's Browser Extension from Firefox does not effect the data stored in Keeper's Cloud Security Vault.

  1. Right click on the Keeper extension icon in the top right corner of your browser.

  2. Click Remove Extension

  3. When the pop-up menu appears, click the Remove button.

Safari Browser Extension

To uninstall “KeeperFill”, you must remove the “Keeper Password Manager” desktop application.

Uninstalling Keeper's Browser Extension from Safari does not effect the data stored in Keeper's Cloud Security Vault.

  1. Navigate to the Safari Menu Bar > Preferences... or Safari Menu Bar > Settings... (for macOS 13 and above).

  2. Click Extensions.

  3. Click KeeperFill.

  4. Click the Uninstall button.

  5. Click the Show in Finder button to locate the application.

  6. Drag Keeper Password Manager.app to the Trash.

  7. Empty the Trash.

Internet Explorer Browser Extension

Uninstalling Keeper's Browser Extension from Internet Explorer does not effect the data stored in Keeper's Cloud Security Vault.

  1. Open the Control Panel.

  2. Go to Programs & Features (Uninstall a program).

  3. Select Keeper for Internet Explorer from the list

  4. Right-click, select Uninstall.

  5. On the first pop-up, select Yes.

  6. On the second pop-up, select Uninstall.

  7. On the third pop-up, select Close the applications and Ok.

Edge Browser Extension

Uninstalling Keeper's Browser Extension from Edge does not effect the data stored in Keeper's Cloud Security Vault.

  1. Open the Overflow Menu.

  2. Click Extensions.

  3. From the menu locate the Keeper Browser Extension.

  4. Click the gear icon next to Keeper.

  5. Click on the Uninstall button.

  6. Click Ok to confirm.

Opera Browser Extension

Uninstalling Keeper's Browser Extension from Opera does not effect the data stored in Keeper's Cloud Security Vault.

  1. Right click on the Keeper extension icon in the toolbar.

  2. Click Manage Extension...

  3. Click Remove Extension.

  4. Confirm by clicking Remove.
