Snapshot Tool for Fast Autofill Fixes
From time to time, users let us know that autofill is not functioning as expected on certain websites. With this release, we are drastically increasing the speed at which we can resolve these issues while also training Keeper's Machine Learning models to safeguard autofill accuracy across the web.
We've introduced a Snapshot Tool in the Keeper Browser Extension that greatly simplifies the process of fixing autofill issues on customer-owned websites or internal tools that were previously difficult for our engineers to access.
Activating
To access the Snapshot Tool, you must first enable it in the KeeperFill Extension settings located in your browser's Extensions Menu. From Chrome, open Windows > Extensions then click on "Extension Options".
Submitting Snapshots
Once enabled, the Snapshot Tool will appear in the browser extension in the main menu.
When you are having trouble with a website login page, click on "Take Snapshot" and follow the instructions provided.
Click on "Take Snapshot" to take a picture of the browser screen.
Then select "Preview" to review exactly what data is going to be sent to Keeper.
The "Page Info" and "JSON Code Snippet" in the preview window describes exactly what information will be sent to Keeper's engineering team. Make sure that there is no confidential information provided, then click on "Share Snapshot".
Keeper will NOT send credentials or confidential information. We only send the screenshot and HTML page structure exactly as displayed in the preview window.
Advanced Record Settings
We’ve added two new Advanced Record settings for individual records tailored to certain autofill use cases.
Overwrite Field Content lets users control whether a record’s Custom Fields can autofill into fields on a webpage that are already populated. Previously, Custom Field content wouldn't autofill into an already-populated field.
Autofill on Subsequent Pages lets users prevent Keeper from attempting to autofill any given record on multiple pages in a row. Turning this off can help prevent accidental “false positive” autofill scenarios, where Keeper autofills on a page you don’t want it to.
To access the Advanced Settings, select the record overflow menu:
Support for PAM Record Types
We've added compatibility to display various types of PAM (Privileged Access Management) record types, including Remote Browser, Directory, Database, Machine, and User record types. To learn more about PAM, click here.
